The writers you see published here, the people you see engaged in our community, keep Soitsfun.com going. They are registered users and contributors with a bio in Soitsfun.
Writers and contributors are mostly selected from members and proven contributors who volunteer in the Soitsfun community. Commissioned articles, from time to time, are paid on a contractural basis. In the future this will change - to include all articles as the platform is developed.
The team working on curating and polishing the stories and news from writers (many who are novices like ourselves) is constantly inspired and motivated by business and community groups who complete our community. Like any good project, we want to partner in informing others of the great things our contributors have to say about their activities, events and experiences in sustaining vibrant communities. There is a local story everywhere and needs to be told by those who appreciate, and for those who strive to provide our daily dose of activities, events and better lifestyles.
Write for Us
If you have knowledge of social, dance or recreational events that entertain and and move our community forward as a group, we want to hear about it. You don’t need to wait for an idea that will redefine life or life-styles. It is about what is happening on a daily basis around and about you in the community. Just aim to bring readers a fresh perspective on a positive community topic that’s keeping you up at night and you feel the rest of the world should know about.
We’ll be honest, though: writing for Soitsfun takes work. Because all we allow is - "Fun", in good taste! No war stories, no gossip and no bull shit! It is not about you or another, it has to be about activity or events and the reason or result of people coming together as a group. Yes you may link back to one business and/or one "great" individual - but your article must first be about social activity or event (community) and the people in a group - it is their event and time to shine.
Extra! Extra! Soitsfun! We want your article to be at its best, and we’ll push you to get there and inform others with your help.
It’s also rewarding. Your peers (and potential employers, clients, or publishers) will read your work, and you’ll also learn a lot in the process—about communicating your ideas, about writing, and even about the topic you thought you already knew so well when you started. Better yet you will introduce activities and events in your community that fiends and neighbors were previously unaware of.
What we’re looking for
Please don’t send us press releases or sales pitches. They make us feel sad inside.
Before you submit, look at our style guide and recent articles for insight into structuring and formatting your piece, and make sure your submission:
- Has a thesis and offers a clear argument of where the action and fun is at—not just a list of tips and tricks.
- Has a voice. Be bold, interesting, and human.
- Is written for an audience of intelligent, active men and women. From their you know our categories and possible topics, information architects, or similar.
- Is supported with convincing arguments, not just opinions. Fact-check, and cite sources where appropriate.
- Follows our style guide.

What Can I Write About?
Do you have a hobby, activity, group or a favorite pastime ? Reading ! Writing ! Art! Darts ! Cycling! Dancing! Don't laugh I'm serious: darts is a favorite pastime for many thousands of people, Men and Women. What I'm getting at is, it could be anything. Snooker, cookery, animals. in fact anything you love doing or working at as part of a group is your community.
OK Why am I asking you this? No silly, not that you throw three darts at a board and that's that. For a start, how many games do you know about ? One two, plenty, Ok begin by telling the story of the group and why and the result of their coming together to play the game. Explain the rudiments of the game, about the scoring, what teams are included, the league status of the team or star players (oh they will love their name in lights) This is of interest to thousands of people and may even convert a few more players, expand the team event or activity.
This explanation goes for any interest you have, explain it in as much detail as you can. make sure its interesting so people will read it and your all set. Remember it is all about "Fun"; the activity and event (not an individual) and the enjoyment as a group or community activity.
BUT! There are thousands of articles out there on the Internet how will mine be any different? Everyone has different opinions and different thoughts on a subject. Use your own know how, the way you do it is bound to be different to some one else's idea of how it should be done. You might have little tricks or a different point of view they would like to know about. A new perspective to make some thing seem much easier and enjoyable than they originally thought it is - Soitsfun! You have just made a conversation.
Well have you thought of something you can write about ? Look around you - there are thousands of untold stories in your own community. You don't have to travel thousands of miles, waste thousands of dollars to find interesting activities and events that are changing every day, every week and every month only to find it is around you in your community.
OK get started, WHY! Because if you want to be active, want traffic, get recognized locally by businesses who love to have their good name and events spread, I am sure a few business's would like you to inform others of their activities and events for community

What we publish
We publish two types of content:
- Mini-articles (500–700 words). Short and sweet.
- Articles (700–1,500 words). More casual in tone and content.
- Events that meets most rigorous social dance content criteria; will run with a illustration and must be submitted from our event blog template.
All should be well-considered explorations of current and cutting-edge social topics that pull communities together. We do not pay at the present time but will consider payment on publication following acceptance of your third article - (Must have Paypal account)
Soitsfun! Blogger Guidelines
Soitsfun! is committed to sharing social media solutions with small businesses and would welcome guest posts from like-minded bloggers to ensure Soitsfun!′s readers have access to a range of experts, topics and fresh perspectives.
Soitsfun! Bloggers must adhere to the following guidelines:
Quality Requirements and Formatting Preferences
Posts should be well-written and concise. In most cases, posts should be at least 500 words long (content, not counting the titles and Bio), but not too long. However, shorter posts are also acceptable if the focus in on an embedded video or images.
Posts must be 100% original. It can’t be a post that has been posted on your own blog or anywhere else before. In other words, it must be a new post and should not be re-published elsewhere in the future. The Soitsfun! blog will be the ultimate home of the post provided and can be linked to and referenced to in other blogs produced in future.
The post should be either:
Fresh - A fresh post has fresh ideas or takes a fresh approach to a subject; or
Comprehensive – A comprehensive post has comprehensive treatment of a subject, usually in the form of a list (such as 15 reasons why we you must have a community social strategy).
Use short paragraphs, sub-headings and/or bullet points to make the post easier to read. Lists are practical and scan-able. Soitsfun!′s lucky number is 8 and this is a great number of items for a list post!
Articles should be submitted as either a document file (i.e. Word) or a text file, with all the appropriate links indicated with either full URL’s provided or attachments provided (e.g. images, original video files, etc) as applicable.
Tips for Writing a Blog Post. Remember if working within the Soitsfun blog editor you must use "Cont'l C" & "Cont'l V" to copy and paste to to the Soitsfun blog editor.
8 Tips For Writing Your First Blog
Preferred Topics and Subjects
Posts should be relevant to the Social, dance, recreation and lifestyles. This may include but is not limited to, the following categories and their sub-categories:
- Social Community
- Dance Community
- Sport (local community only)
- Fun Times
The post should provide a specific angle to a topic, for example:
- Industry announcement (e.g. an update on changes to personal or business tools that affects personal lives or community).
- Unique take on a current social community issue.
- Provision of expertise (e.g. in any category).
- Review of new events and activities in your community.
- How to guides or steps to achieve in any of our categories.
- Facts, policies and/or guidelines in categories.
- Opinion in any category but couched in respectful tone.
Link Requirements and Policies
- Links should be used as appropriate to the content of the post.
- Links are encouraged to other posts found in the Soitsfun! website where appropriate.
- No links are permitted to unrelated sites or affiliate links.
Optimizing for the Engines
- Once you've decided what information you want to provide, you can turn your focus to SEO. Copy-writing for the engines requires balance.
- You never want to sacrifice the reader's experience for the sake of rankings.
- Stuffing keywords into text is a method that will almost always backfire.
- Practically no one wants to read an article (or website page) that constantly repeats the same exact terms to the point of extremes.
- Use specific key-phrases within your own article and also use similar terms. Pay more attention to key-phrase use (and the use of variations of those key-phrases) than focusing on keyword density.
The Two Most Important Keys
- First, pay attention to the content you offer. Always impart useful, concrete knowledge to your reader.
- Second, study your niche (a.k.a. know your target audience!) and write specifically for the purpose of helping them.
- SEO Advice: Write useful articles in a category that informs and that readers will enjoy.
User first, search engines second. When you get the priority straight, the rest will fall into line without much hassle.
Bloggers must include a short biography of no more than 75 words, plus a photo in their profile. Bloggers may link to their own work in their bio. This bio will appear at the end of the post and should be provided along with the post.
There will be a paragraph at the beginning of the post introducing the Guest Blogger that will also include a link to the Guest Blogger’s site.
Your Post Image Requirements
- A minimum of one image, or video link should be submitted with the post to make the post locally authoritative and attention-grabbing.
All blogs and articles must be positive and address value-added community topics. Sorry, no negativity here.
Soitsfun! reserves the right to edit the post as needed (for example to fix spelling, grammar and/or create clarity). Please don’t be offended if we suggest changes or ask you to rework part of an article to meet with our requirements. If the submission is so bad - then we "Trump" it.
Soitsfun! reserves the right to reject posts if not appropriate.
Posts that criticize individuals and/or may be perceived to criticize, victimize or bully will not be accepted. Nothing good to say then don't say it, or go to Facebook or Twitter.
If your post is approved, you will be automatically notified when it is published.
Bloggers are expected to promote the Blog via their regular community communication channels with their regular friends, and audience. This in turn builds your exposure through reciprocal referrals.
How to submit for the front end magazine (and what happens next)
You must first be familiar with our community and platform in being fully capable of authoring directly in our on-line editor. Notify us of your submission. We prefer submissions from your Soitsfun user blog (where in essence it is immediately available to your friends and community) or Google documents so that editors can easily provide feedback and guidance directly within your draft. You may also send us a plain text file, a Markdown file, or a link to an HTML document. (Please do not send a ZIP file of assets unless requested by an editor.)
Here’s what happens after you hit Send: We start dancing.. really!
An editor will review your submission and determine whether it’s a potential fit. If so, the whole team will review, check content and discuss it. This happens once a week.
The editor will collect the team’s feedback and get back to you with notes. (Remember that if you blog in the Soitsfun Community it receives immediate viewing by friends.)
Once you’ve addressed our comments, you may edit and revise your article right on-line.
If we accept your article, an editor will work with you on things like organization, argumentation, and style.
We’ll schedule you for publication as soon as revisions are complete. We can’t give you a specific publication date until the article is almost ready to go live.
